Snoop Dogg - Huf : 420

HUF — 420 Collection ft. Snoop Dogg

Creative Direction · Branding · Typography · Campaign Direction

As Creative Director at HUF, I helped transform April 20th (4/20)—a date long associated with cannabis culture—into a cornerstone retail moment for the brand. That year’s campaign featured Snoop Dogg as brand ambassador, celebrating his enduring influence on West Coast culture and his alignment with HUF’s creative DNA.

I hand-drew the “HUF 420” wordmark, inspired by West Coast gothic blackletter, which became the visual anchor for the collection and the foundation of its branding. I also led creative direction for the photo and video campaign, capturing Snoop’s unmistakable charisma in a vintage peacock chair—a visual nod to Huey P. Newton, co-founder of the Black Panther Party. The image became the defining symbol of the release.

Collaboration was central to the project. Joe Cool, the legendary illustrator behind Snoop’s Doggystyle album, created original artwork under my direction to align with the HUF aesthetic, while photographers Mike Miller and Chi Modu contributed their iconic imagery to the campaign. The final range—graphic tees, hats, socks, and accessories—merged streetwear, hip-hop, and counterculture into a cohesive, era-defining story.
